Congratulations to Cian Hehir and the wider research team on winning the Plenary Award at the Sir Peter Freyer Surgical Symposium at the University of Galway on the 5th September.

The award-winning presentation explored novel 3D scaffolds, their biocompatibility and preliminary effects on immune responses in the laboratory, with potential future applications in transplant immunology.

Professor Róisín Dolan, who leads the SENTINEL study at St Vincent’s University Hospital and University College Dublin, also led the research recognised by this award. The work brings together expertise from Beaumont Hospital, RCSI and St Vincent’s University Hospital.

This recognition highlights the collaborative research advancing our understanding of transplant immune responses, an area central to SENTINEL’s work.

Congratulations to Cian, Prof Dolan and all co-authors on this achievement!
