Innovation at the Interface: Prof Róisín Dolan at BAPRAS 2025

4 December 2025 – Belfast, Northern Ireland

Prof Róisín Dolan delivered an invited talk at the BAPRAS Congress in Belfast in December titled “Innovation at the Interface: Nurturing Clinician–Scientists in Plastic Surgery.” Her presentation explored how plastic surgery can continue to lead medical innovation by investing in clinician–scientists who bridge surgical practice and research.

The talk highlighted the importance of supportive systems, interdisciplinary partnerships, and research culture in enabling surgeons to translate ideas into clinical impact. Drawing on her experience as Principal Investigator of the Sentinel Trial, Prof Dolan shared perspectives on building sustainable platforms for innovation within plastic and reconstructive surgery.

The BAPRAS Congress is the annual scientific meeting of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons, bringing together consultants, trainees, and researchers from the UK and Ireland to showcase cutting-edge research, innovation, and best practice across the specialty.
